About me
Welcome to my homepage. My name is Thomas, I was born in 1995 and started taking photographs in autumn 2019.
I got into photography through my family. They have been enthusiastic hobby photographers for years. I made my first attempts at photography while taking a walk together.
On the following page you can see a few pictures from my beginnings with the camera.
As is well known, a master does not fall from heaven. So my first pictures were... expandable. I still enjoy looking at some of them because they are very minimalistic and remind me of my start time.
After I was no longer able to do my actual hobby of shooting air rifles during the "Corona lockdown", I needed something new to do. So I dedicated myself even more to photography.
After many attempts, macro photography started in spring 2020. I quickly found it fun to make the little things big. I then bought a macro lens for this. But here too it took me a while to get the pictures good enough to show someone. My sister showed me a lot and helped me here. Maybe it also cost her a few nerves 😊.
In the same year I started taking landscape photos. For macro photography I was usually out in the morning because that's when the light is most beautiful and has its own charm. It's worth getting up early and photographing the sunrises. Even if it doesn't always turn out the way you imagine, it's nice to just enjoy the silence.
I also enjoyed photographing the sunsets. These actually suit me a little better because I'm actually a late riser.
But here too, my first pictures weren't exactly great. However, if you enjoy it, you shouldn't give up immediately.
Also in 2020 I photographed a wedding for the first time. That was also the beginning of portrait and wedding photography. Since then I have continued to photograph portraits, weddings and pets.
I always particularly enjoy photographing people. When you look at the finished pictures at home and realize that you have captured special emotions. I'm always very happy about that.
Spring 2022 was simply too hot. Unfortunately there weren't enough insects to photograph. I then decided to buy a telephoto lens so I could focus more on wildlife photography.
I've been able to take some great pictures there. But I've discovered that I'm too impatient to sit in a tent or something similar and wait for hours. So I go for a walk and photograph everything that comes across my lens. This is a great way to enjoy nature and switch off from stressful everyday life.
Once a year I go on a lost place tour with my sister. I find abandoned companies the most interesting. There you can discover so many little things that were left behind back then. The story behind it is always very interesting.
What is important, however, is that we only visit abandoned places that we have booked through a provider or have previously obtained permission from the owner to enter.
In November 2022 I opened this homepage to share my photos with everyone. I'm happy when I see that my pictures or calendars are hanging somewhere else in the living room or kitchen. Have fun looking at my pictures and who knows, maybe there will be a picture of me hanging in your home soon 😉.
Since May 2023, a selection of my pictures can be purchased in my online shop.
You can choose between different sizes there. You can also choose between acrylic glass or a photo canvas, among other things. I will gradually add new pictures here.
In November 2023 I decided to also offer my products on Etsy. There will always be offers there, such as Black Friday. So keep checking back there. I'm also always designing new photo displays and new cards.
In December 2023 I was at a local Christmas market for the first time. I would now like to have a stand at Christmas or spring markets etc. more often. I'll announce it on Instagram when I'm at a local market. Maybe we'll see each other at the next market in the Amberg-Sulzbach district 😊.
I started my blog in January 2024. Since I always take the train to work, I use the time wisely to write new entries here. Feel free to stop by. If you have any criticism, no matter what kind, you are welcome to write it to me.
I will gradually pick up new topics here and try to explain them as simply as possible.
